Tinea is an extremely contagious form of fungal infection that requires a good deal of attention and quick treatment. Various home remedies involving antifungal and antimicrobial ingredients will not only prevent the infection from spreading, but also allay itching, burning, and stinging that comes with the infection. Check out the following home remedies for tinea and try these the next time your toe is infested with ringworms.


 


 


Tinea Home Remedies


  • Fill your footbath with hot water and add a cup of Epsom salt and half a cup of Clorox to it. Mix well. Douse your feet into it for 20 minutes or until the water is mildly warm. Do this religiously three times a day until your foot fungus has healed completely.

  • Gently wiping the affected area with apple cider vinegar solution can help reduce the blisters and inflammation to a large extent. Apple cider vinegar contains potent antimicrobial properties that can penetrate deep into the skin and fight off the fungus.

  • Alternatively, you can use a solution made of white vinegar and water to treat tinea. Take distilled vinegar in a clean bowl, douse a clean towel into it, and gently rub the inflamed areas. Allow the vinegar to dry naturally. Within days, you will notice improvement in your sore foot. Treating your feet with vinegar won’t just treat tinea, but also prevent further fungal raids.

  • Garlic is an excellent antibiotic that can do wonders for your fungus-infested toe. Just crush some cloves of garlic, apply them on the affected area, and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold clear water. Do this once a day for quick recovery.

  • Another tried and tested cure for tinea is the humble ginger that is known for its antifungal properties. Chop and add fresh slivers of gingers in a pan of boiling water and simmer it for around 20 minutes. Allow it to cool and then wipe your feet twice a day with this solution.


 


Apart from these home remedies, one can also use tea tree oil, garlic powder, and dried chaparral solution to get rid of tinea.
