New Food Show To Focus On Fast Food
It is a known fact that fast food sells and television channels have never quite been able to escape its lure so far! The latest to join in the fray is the renowned network, Discovery Communications which is all set to debut with its food show devoted entirely to fast food on the 3rd of June this year. This unique show will be shown on its brand new cable channel, ”Destination America” which is set to be launched on Memorial Day, the 28th of May.The new patriotic channel will replace “Planet Green” on the network.
While television has had many food based shows in the past with entire channels being dedicated to the basic necessity of human beings, the newest show on the block comes with a twist. According to its press release, the makers of “Fast Food Mania” will enlighten its viewers by providing them with helpful tips right from how to weave your car in and out of the drive-ins to the art of ordering the secret delicacies on the menu. The show will also take its viewer into the test kitchens of some the mega names associated with fast food in America.
Jon Hein, the Radio host well known because of his time in the “"The Howard Stern Show” had admitted his weakness for fast food. He also has the experience of co-hosting a radio show on Sirius/XM titled, “Fast Food Show.”
The very first episode of this show is going to feature a number of fast food chains including Taco Bell, Domino’s, Dunkin Donuts, and Sonic. A few of the other popular joints like Whataburger and Chick-fil-A will also be highlighted in the maiden episode of “Fast Food Mania.” The giants like McDonalds and Burger King are, however, conspicuous by their absence.
"The show itself, without a doubt, is something that fast-food clients are very excited about," says the Vice President, Levitt, National Sales Manager of Discovery Communications. However, the fast food chains or quick food restaurant outlets aren’t really too keen on airing their ads on the show. The reason might be the presence or focus on their rival business establishments feels Levitt who sums up his feelings on the lack of ads by saying, "but in terms of participating in the show itself, that is not what excites them the most”.
So get ready to travel around the nation with Jon Hein, sampling everything from waffles to pizzas and burgers to fries. Fast Food is something close to our hearts despite what the health advocates tell us. It’s time now to take a look at the reality by getting a sneak peek at what really is the fast food scenario across the US.
