Miss Universe Australia Stephanie Naumoska Questioned For Being Too Skinny

You are here

Prezi's picture
It seems like Miss Universe Australia Stephanie Naumoska hardly have any time out from the controversy concerning her too skinny body to actually enjoy the fame and glory the title has brought in!

Although being one of the leading finalists, appreciations and applauses do not seem to approach Miss Universe Australia Stephanie Naumoska, instead she finds herself on the flipside - yes, all what she gets to hear is criticisms and complaints from dieticians and doctors!

But what this Australian beauty has to reply to all those hearsays is this – “I think it is very unfair that I have been criticized that I’m too skinny. I have never been anorexic or bulimic I don’t throw up my meals after I eat them I don’t starve myself, none of that. I eat six to eight healthy meals a day”!

Well, if that was the case, then her skin and bones wouldn’t have raised such a huge hullabaloo! Well, there could be another take to it – I hope Miss Universe Australia Stephanie Naumoska is not having some kind of eating disorder! In that case the doctors and dietician will have to keep mum about things.

If Stephanie Naumoska eats 6 meals a day or not, what really bothers me is the future of the youngsters; if they too start getting so slim then we will have girls with just skin and bones! And I bet, the critics here has a point to make – like as there is age-bar and height bar to compete for such beauty pageants, why not apply a minimum weight-bar that the contestants need to have while registering their names for the same.

Gosh! I think she looks GREAT! I wish she would tell exactly what she does eat during a days time so that I could begin that diet today. Stephanie is a beautiful girl, obviously with great will power to control her diet. Yall don't be jealous of her! Stephanie just tell us how to look like you, please. Seriously, if I need to stop eating just say that's what you do. But how do I get that look?
Elorie's picture
you need serious help. if you want to lose weight, eat something thats good for you and get up off the couch
Anonymous's picture
There is nothing wrong with her! I look like that and i'm not anorexic!!! Its just the way she is. So stop being jealous or criticizing her. Everyone looks different, so don't judge people on their weight. As long as she is healthy--which she is--then leave her alone!!!!
Anonymous's picture
And there are a lot of people who look like that out there, including me. If you can't accept people the way they are, then you are the one with the problem, not them.
Anonymous's picture
Its ok if you are skinny as long as you are healthy.
Anonymous's picture
she is not womanly and not attractive. 6 to 8 meals of 100 calories each probably. If she put on 15 pounds she could be beautiful.
Anonymous's picture
shes all bones. too skinny
Anonymous's picture
You're right. she's not attractive at all. skinny woman are not attractive, while SLIM woman are. This is way different. and don't tell me that's the way she is naturally. your bones don't jut out like that even if you do have a fast metabolism. and from the looks of her legs as well, this girl works out A LOT. they are muscular. personally, i think she has a problem. she would be so much prettier if she put on like 10 or more pounds. then, she'd look like a victoria's secret model, which is the type of model that people find most attractive.

I'm a doctor, and yes, it can be natural to look like this. Just like some girls are "big boned" some girls are born having a very hard time gaining weight instead of losing weight. I would suggest you look up on youtube the girl who has to eat every fifteen minutes. In my personal opinion I i find it just as rude and offensive with people like you judging people on the way they look just like you would if someone called you fat in your bikini. She may be "too skinny" in your opinion, but if she's winning titles, plenty of people still think she's hot. I don't care if this is "disgusting" to you, it is the way she was made, and it's so so so so rude to be judging people based off of bikini pictures. You don't even know her. How would you know if she has an eating disorder? Why don't you put a picture of yourself up and we can all call you "oh so pretty" because I'm sure you're flawless.
Anonymous's picture
it may be a natural body shape for some of you but she is not natualy that skinny as seen in the photo right at the top she was once "healthy " now she is simply malnourished.

I agree with the post on: 13 October 2009 - 9:21am. "she is not womanly and not attractive. 6 to 8 meals of 100 calories each probably. If she put on 15 pounds she could be beautiful." She looks so much more beautiful and healthy in the very top picture! don't kid yourself gilrs... we are not meant to have bones jutting out. If you think you are healthy and you eat healthy and still look like Stephanie Naumoskathen maybe there is something wrong with what you are eating or perhaps your body is not digesting food the way it should. There are certain conditions that can cause people to look like this. healthy manes that if you got sick or couldn't eat for a day or two for some reason your body would have enough energy reserves to keep you alive and not cause any long term damage to your organs. Stephanie does not have those reserves.

6 to 8 meals pfft right. im sorry but coming from someone who knows all too well.. that girl has a very serious eating disorder.
Anonymous's picture
I'm not jealous of her the first time I saw her on the news everyone in my family was doing the eww look. I would photoshop her ribs away, her arms are great she doesn't need anyting for her bust or her butt area but I'll definitly widen her hips a little bit more and thicken her thighs. And photoshop away any boney sticking out bits.
Anonymous's picture
look some girls are thin some girls are "slim" and some " like me" are uhh Full figured and some have another kind of eating disorder. but hay if she has to stop eating or work out to the point that she looks like this, to make her self feel attractive we shouldn't be sitting hear calling her ugly and malnurished but we also shouldn't be complementing her. he must have some issues she needs to sort out and that is her business Her Privet Business
Anonymous's picture
Shes so pretty, really. But I have to say that I've an ED. Shes the best Inspiration, she has the body I want.
Anonymous's picture
so you want to be to anorexic and die young?
Anonymous's picture
hey guys! I think she's verry thin, but thats the look you gotta have to work in the industry. Im also very thin because im a teen mosel and even though i don't like it thats the body you need to work with top designers, so it's not her choice to look like that and probably she doesn't make her own diet as well. But a lot of people are carefully watching her ,but if you are that skinny in real life it's very dangerous.
Elorie's picture
i agree with a lot of you, she does not look healthy, she is way too skinny and looks horrible. girls these days think that being that skinny is beautiful and its not, its sick and twisted, and girls like these have obviously no self esteem or a brain. THIS is whats making girls these days so obsessed with their looks and body shapes THIS is the kind of thing that is making girls tourture themselvs by starving themselves, its discusting and stupid and girls like this need to be slapped or given some more brain cells because this is saying that you have to be likt this to be "beautiful" and anonymous? you need therapy this is not healthy, and if this is what you think beautful is, you need a serious reality check or a slap.
Anonymous's picture
I feel like if I hugged her to hard, she would snap, that or one of her bones would bruise me. It looks painful to be thin to the extent she is, she has more angles than curves.
Anonymous's picture
i'm super skinny and i eat alot... it's sad to know that people are criticizing me because it's hard for me to gain weight. I feel for her, it must me difficult that she's unable to truly enjoy her win without mean comments
Anonymous's picture
I do think she's pretty, but does look far too skinny. It just worries me that it puts an image into young girls heads, that they are supposed to look like that.
Anonymous's picture
Sorry, but it's NOT OK to be that skinny. There are SERIOUS HEALTH RISKS associated with being that underweight, in the same way there are risks if you are overweight...The doctors are right surprisingly..she needs to eat more. PS failing to see how this is a good look?that body is UGLY.
Anonymous's picture
No, i've been underweight my whole entire life and I eat and eat and eat. I'm also duh duh duh duh…. a DOCTOR. If you are overweight while eating healthy and exercising, there's many less health risks than someone who sits on the couch all day. Some people just have a hard time losing weight. The same with underweight people. If someone is anorexic, they are not receiving proper nutrients. Stop being so hateful. I have had many patients that are this skinny and do exactly as she says: eat a good six meals a day consisting of about 2500 kilocalories altogether. If she is healthy, that's what matters. I'm going to guess your "ugly" comments have a lot more to do with jealousy than reality. I would pay millions to guess that you are a woman. Would you like it if someone called you Ugly in a swimsuit? She probably feels the same way getting bullied by jealous little (or big, haha) girls like you.
Sash.Maus's picture
I don't know who you are, but I LOVE you!! Thank you for explaining so beautifully the reality of things!!!!!! I am naturally skinny and I'm sick of jealous women feeling they have the right to make such HORRIBLE comments about the way we look. Proudly skinny.
Anonymous's picture
it could be normal and healthy if she always been that skinny and could'nt do anything to change that but she wasnt, and u can clearly see on the other pic.
Akallday1's picture
The other picture is photoshopped...and her arms look the same in both pictures, why can't anyone just accept the fact that not everyone who is thin is anorexic or bulimic, I'm the same way I can eat whatever I want whenever I want sit on the couch and never gain a pound. it's unfortunate so many people have such a narrow minded view on body types...there a billions of people in the world we are going to come in different shapes and sizes so how dare you criticize and make people feel bad for being the way they are. I'm sure there's many things we could all criticize about each other but what good is that going to do for you and me? Eating disorders are a problem and are unfortunate, but do realize not everyone that is skinny has one.
Anonymous's picture
she looks insanely bad and unhealthy. She is too skinny, this is downright terrible!!!!!! WOW. Talk about anorexic.
Anonymous's picture
I have plenty of friends that look like this, and no, none of them have "disorders". I've known them since the time they were little, and they also never secretly suffered from a disorder. Remember five years ago when it was okay to look the way you were made and not get shot down? Apparently people can bash skinny people all they want, but god-forbid if you bash an overweight person or you're viewed as the scum of the earth. See the problem? If you want to look at real anorexic people I would encourage you to go online. You saying this person is disgusting for either personal opinion or jealousy reasons is the same thing as you saying someone who is overweight is disgusting. Let her live her life and quit being such hateful people
Anonymous's picture
I don't know too much about this issue. If she says she eats a lot and this is how she is normally without any insane diet practices that's good. As long as the girl is healthy. People are not critical because they are jealous so people stop saying that..really, it tends to put people down... I believe its just concern because so many young girls look up to her and it may be unnatural for those girls to look like that. Personally, I think she looks unhealthy but it just could be this way because of the angle of the picture. You can see my rib cage like the same way you can see hers if you get me at the right angle. Think things through before you're mean to others( this includes those you are being mean to her and those who are being mean to the critics). I know a lot about eating disorders and such so if you want to argue or something, argue with me and I will give you facts without being rude about it.

Ok... Im naturally veryyyyyy very very thin. 5'10 and 117-120lbs for the last 2 years. But ribs visible between your breasts..? Hips poking out while ur standing? Her elbows!! She IS malnourished and she does need help. Anyone who disagrees is lying or just plain stupid. Btw 124lbs today!! :)

I really just want to say as a society we need to stop throwing around the words that I have read in ya'll comments. It is a huge disappointment to see such ugly comments from people. I don't know if she eats 6 to 8 healthy meals a day, I don't know if she works out constantly, and I don't know if she is malnourished but I do know that none of you do either! You all are talking about how this is bad for young girls to see and yadda yadda yadda! You are as ignorant as the people who think beauty is all about being skinny! And don't give this stuff about "natural" not everyone falls under the natural case. Get the FACTS before you start spreading your hurtful words and your hatred! I never want to hear a woman call another woman disgusting or horrible! I am the founder of the young womens club at my school and this is what young girls have to deal with hearing...FROM OTHER WOMEN more so then men! Treat her just as you'd treat yourselves! Please it's just plan rude to do otherwise!
Anonymous's picture
I completely agree with you. This IS cyber bullying which everyone says they are against, but clearly they aren't.
Anonymous's picture
Maybe, just maybe, we could not post blogs concerning someone else's weight. I know that it is an out of this world concept, but would a person saying she is ugly like it if they had loads of people criticing what you look like? When you look at it from this perspective, you start to think, that a blog like this is just terrible. You know what? It's really none of ANYONE'S god damn business.
Anonymous's picture
This girl has a serious eating disorder. The pictures don't lie and neither does her alarming weight. I was diagnosed with anorexia five years ago and I can tell you from personal experience that she has a SERIOUS eating disorder and should probably seek help. That is not a natural body shape I don't care what anyone on here says, including the "doctor". No doctor would EVER tell you this girl is at a healthy weight.

I find it so sad that people think its ok to judge someone so harshly and be as hurtful as some of you are. I am skinny and I KNOW how hard it is every day to feel happy with the way you look and to be confident with all the unfeeling people around who think they have the right to comment or ask insulting questions about the way you look. I am so happy there are beautiful, healthy skinny women out there who can be role models for people like us.
