Rachael Ray Donates $500,000 Food To Sandy Pets
Rachael Ray is a celebrity with a golden heart, literally and it was proved when she recently donated $500,000, no less, to rescue and rehabilitate the pets affected by the Superstorm Sandy in New York. the TV personality donated the money to "American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)."
The Society is setting up a shelter to help those pets and their families, whose pets were, lost or hurt during the Superstorm. So far, ASPCA has rescued more than 250 animals. Besides, it has provided essential supplies to the owners of about 6,000 more pets in NYC. The money donated by Ray shall be used to lease a building that will serve as a central shelter for the storm-affected animals.
However, the $500,000 donation is not all. The Emmy-awarded chef also informed that her orgnization, 'Yum-o!', will donate $100,000 to the 'City Harvest and the Food Bank' for New York City and her pet food brand, 'Nutrish,' is going to send 4 tons of dog food for Sandy-affected animals.
With help of Ray's donation, the central shelter is definitely going to be a centre for happy endings for a lot of animals in the NYC.
