Gwyneth Paltrow Mixes Tequila With Cucumber For Health
Tequila and Gwyneth Paltrow? Do the twain mix? Well, the actress seemed highly impressed by the efforts of Keith Rhodes, the proprietor of “Catch”, a restaurant in North Carolina. Paltrow shared the recipe for this innovative tequila drink along with other healthy recipes in her Newsletter GOOP. The 39-year-old health conscious star was greatly excited over the idea of mixing a margarita based on this recipe. Let's see what it is all about...
Now, it’s time you forgot the sugary liqueurs or orange juice. Look for the healthy cucumber instead and mix it up in a tall glass with triple sec and a dash of soda added to the agave tequila and muddled veggie fruit, the cucumber. What about salt round the rim and the sour lemon to bite off then? Do not even think on the lines of tequila cruda, the salt gets to be mixed with pepper and … yeah! You heard it right!..chili powder which you just have to lick off the rim.
Rhodes is a James Beard Foundation nominee himself and thrives on cooking the locally available fresh seafood at his restaurant. His tips and tricks are described as “kick-ass cooking” by the gifted Oscar winner and she has no intention of letting the GOOP readers go without mastering other recipes like the tuna tataki, shrimp ceviche and the pan seared grouper with veggies. Step by step instructions and images are meant to transform the readers into gourmet chefs overnight, she hopes. Gwyneth simply cannot stop gushing over Rhodes’ skills for now though. She is effusive in her praise and states, “careful to stick with what is in abundance in his community, Keith feeds his customers food that is fresh, inventive and delicious.”
We only hope that the chili powder embracing the rim of the cool cucumber margarita isn’t too much in abundance coz it might just end up becoming the recipe for “A Perfect Murder” instead of appeasing the wannabe “Shakespeares In Love”.
