Wolfgang Puck To Recreate Magic With 2012 Oscar Governors Ball Menu

FitGal's picture

PuckMaster chef Wolfgang Puck, who has been creating a menu for the after-Oscars Governors Ball for the past 17 years, will be doing so yet again, for the 18th consecutive year. The Oscars ceremony will be held on February 26, 2012 and Puck is going to be there at the Governors Ball with his selection of dishes to which the Oscars winners, nominees as well as other guests will be treated. It is happy times again at Beverly Hills, California with Puck and his Oscars Menu.

1) The Excitement

Wolfgang Puck and his catering service, the Wolfgang Puck Catering (WPC) will design the menu and will feed the 1,500 Ball guests of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Puck is visibly excited as he says, “We are so excited to help create a new energy for the Governors Ball this year. With fantastic California ingredients, a few luxuries, and some favorite comfort foods, there will truly be something for everyone, and inspiration for anyone hosting a party at home. We are happy to celebrate Hollywood’s brightest starts and most accomplished artists with our culinary artistry.”

2) The Menu Details

Puck is going to create the menu in association with Chef Matt Bencivenga and Executive Pastry Chef Sherry Yard and the menu is believed to be a representative of the social arrangement of this year’s Ball. From hors d’oeuvres to entrees, to be passed all through the evening, there will be more than 50 dishes to tickle the taste buds of the guests. The Ball guests will be treated to smoked salmon Oscars, chicken pot pie with black truffle shavings, and lobster tacos with tomato and pickled shallots. There will be gold-dusted chocolate Oscars, and beet salad with pistachio butter. The menu will be prepared using local ingredients, promises Puck. He also assures that the menu would reflect the high standards of gracious hospitality set by WPC.
