Tina Fey's Post-baby Workout: Pilates!

You are here

Tina Fey's Post-baby Workout: Pilates!Tina Fey, our lady of 30 Rock will probably be signing up for some Pilates classes now. This Emmy Award winning actress and producer who usually has heads turning at the sight of her svelte body, wants to keep it that way, especially after the birth of her second daughter Penelope Athena in August 2011.

Fey's long time yoga teacher Kristin McGee has been suggesting Pilates to her. But for Tina Fey who leads a really hectic life, she finds it really hard to spare time for any thing other than work, husband and kids. "Work, come home, play, kid bounce, work again, go to bed." A source says that Tina Fey is more than willing to spare time to get back her pre-baby body because she knows that it is going to be all the more difficult for women in their 40's.

The reason why Kristin McGee the celebrity fitness trainer and close friend of Tina Fey suggests Pilates for all the new mothers is that, “Pilates is the perfect postnatal workout. It’s low impact yet delivers great results. It targets all the areas that expand (abdomen, hips and thighs) when a woman gets pregnant and tightens them back up.” Pilates if you must know is a body conditioning routine that was developed by Joseph Pilatess to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back.

When it comes to her diet, Tina Fey, 41, says that she is a fairly a healthy eater and she does keep an eye on what she is feeding her body. We know that this Date Night actress had once taken the help of Weight Watchers to lose weight. She said, “When I was 29. I lost about 35 pounds. I did it through Weight Watchers. That's when I learned how to eat properly for the first time. Before, I used to be one of those people who wouldn't eat anything all day, then eat a piece of cake at 4 p.m., McDonald's at 10 p.m., and then go to bed.”

I would recommend Pilates because I go for Pilates classes myself. It has improved my metabolism, visibly reduced my tummy and strengthened my core, and fixed my aching back; all in one month's time. So yeah, Tina go for it!
