  • Myrrh is a natural gum that is obtained from shrubs and contains many medicinal properties that are useful for this skin condition. It heals the deep ulcers and dries the scabs because of the antiseptic agents in it. Dry and powdered herb can be made into a paste for topical application.


  • Tea tree for skin is a powerful remedy as it can kill the bacteria which colonize and penetrate the skin. Dilute a few drops of the oil in sufficient water and apply with a cotton ball to clean and disinfect the affected area. This is mild enough to be used regularly.


  • Aloe vera treatment consists of application of the gel 4 – 5 times a day on skin and left to dry. A study showed that the extract present in the inner leaf is a natural antibiotic agent against the streptococcus bacteria that causes impetigo.


  • Neem oil is good for treatment as it has proven antiseptic properties that get rid of harmful bacteria and are very gentle on the skin. Soaps and lotions with this useful herb are available easily. A full body pack containing powdered neem can be used once a week.


  • The oils present in eucalyptus leaves are antimicrobial and reduce inflammation and redness of the skin. A few drops of this strong smelling natural medicine, diluted in olive oil can be applied and left overnight.
