Lentils help in eliminating cholesterol as they contain soluble fiber which binds to it resulting in low cholesterol level. Studies have also proved that lentils help in reducing the manufacturing of cholesterol within the liver.

Soluble fiber present in lentils help in trapping carbohydrates. This slows down the process of digestion as well as absorption thereby preventing the blood sugar level to shoot up during the day. So those who suffer from diabetes must eat lentils every day.
