There are myriad health benefits of noni fruit. This fruit can be found in countries from Southeast Asia to Australia.  This is a fruit of the Morinda citrifolia tree, which belongs to the coffee family, and is recognized by different names in different parts of the world. This tree can grow about 12 feet tall and the fruit is green colored which upon ripening turns yellowish green. This fruit takes a while to ripen, nearly 3 months and is used for its nutritional benefits. Noni juice is a supplement that is available as well.



Noni fruit is mainly used for relieving menstrual cramps, urinary tract infections and bowel issues.


There are antibacterial compounds in noni juice which helps to control the growth and spread of bad bacteria like salmonella, E.Coli and Heliobacter pylori.  


Rich in vitamin C as well as other antioxidants, this fruit can help neutralize the free radicals that harm the body. Several polysaccharides can also be found in noni fruit and its juice, which too can have antibacterial, immune boosting and anti-tumor properties.


Noni juice also helps to lower the triglycerides and cholesterol levels in the body. It can be used as a painkiller as it contains analgesic properties.It also provides respite to people with arthritis.


However I must mention that there are a few side effects related to noni juice, such as a stomach ache, constipation and loose stools. This only happens if you consume a large amount of noni juice. Also there is quite a bit of potassium found in this fruit so if you suffer from hypokalemia, avoid eating noni.


The side effects of noni can easily be avoided; it has far more health benefits than risks of side effects so definitely try the nutritious advantages of this fruit and see what a difference it makes to your overall health.
