What is worse is that, once herpes affects a person, it might just be around for a long time to come. Sometimes, people don't even know that they are carrying the virus. It mostly spreads by close contact (read: sex). The herpes symptoms would include blisters on the genitals and sores on the mouth. Eww! Luckily, there are natural remedies for genital herpes.

  4. Vitamin C! You can take Vitamin C supplements or eat a lot of fruits that are rich in Vitamin C. This vitamin helps in improving the immune system, and thereby helping your body to fight the herpes virus.

  5. Avoid coffee! Caffeine aggravates  herpes.

  6. Avoid dairy products, meat, nuts, seeds, oats and corn! They contain arginine, an amino acid that suppresses the production of lysine. Lysine is needed for the cure of sores. Eat lysine rich products like watercress, seaweed and parsley.
