Don't skip dinner if you want to lose weight. Nutritional experts say that. I will say that too, because, that is something that I learnt the hard way. I have written in my previous posts that I have struggled weight issues for the most part of life. I did lose it but not without any trials and errors. I tried diets, starving and I've tried skipping individual meals before finding sustainable eating habits. One of the things that I found out is that, one has to eat dinner to lose weight. A lot of people who are trying to lose weight, try skipping dinner at some point or the other. Don't skip dinner. Skipping dinner will definitely lower you calorific intake but that does not mean that you are going to lose weight. When you skip dinner, your body will start breaking down the stored proteins, fats and carbohydrates to release energy. If your profession calls for a lot of physical work, you will feel fatigue, dizziness, heavy heart palpitation, low blood pressure and at times constipation. And sometimes when you skip your dinner or any other meal regularly, your body will go under the 'famine' mode. What happens here is that, your body will begin to store all the proteins, fats and carbohydrates from your other meals. If this goes on a overdrive, you might actually gain weight. Your metabolism rates will come down when you start skipping dinner. You need good metabolism to lose weight. This is particularly true in the case of women. Not skipping dinner is not an option; it is a rule. So don't skip dinner, if you want to shed some kilos. Instead of skipping dinner, you can change what you are eating at dinner. Do not eat heavy meals for dinner, instead have more veggies and fruits. You can also have a couple of slices of whole wheat bread and a glass of milk. Don't skip dinner.
