The comfort foods as we know them do provide temporary relief from bad moods, but they also help in piling kilos to the body. Dark Chocolate: Chocolates reign over the mood-enhancing food categories and contain chemicals which help in improving mood. Dark chocolate contains higher percentage of cocoa and less percentage of sugar than the regular milk chocolate. The flavanoids and anti-oxidants present in the dark chocolate, help in reducing the chances of cancer, heart diseases and blood clotting in the body.  


 


 


Yogurt: Besides being a powerhouse of calcium, proteins and Vitamin B12, yogurt contains good bacteria which aid the body in quick digestion and prevents the stomach against infections. A bowl of yogurt with added honey is a good way of enhancing your mood.


 


Water: Although water cannot be classified as a food item, water plays a crucial role in efficient functioning of the body. Lack of water leads to dehydration and dehydration can cause stress.


 


Sweet Potatoes: Sweet potatoes are credited with reducing the stress levels in the body. In place of a pastry or any sugar rich cake, dig into the roasted, mashed or boiled sweet potatoes.
