Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, best known for his roles in movies like Thor, The Avengers and Star Trek went on a special diet for playing these roles in his movies which required him to bulk up. Chris Hemsworth needed to eat a lot to get that look for his role in Thor. He ate a lot of proteins, as proteins is what would help gain those muscles. He got his proteins from whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes ,vegetables and fruits. He had his constant intake of protein shakes too. He cut down on sugar and other saturated fats and its good that he did that otherwise he would not have possessed those admirable biceps and the loss would be entirely ours!
Hemsworth stayed away from pastas and instead opted for a healthier version quinoa. Chris ate six times in a day. He had 1000 calories extra while training for those bulky muscles.
“I put on a lot of weight — I put on about 20 pounds at one point. It was purely eating, eating, eating, working out and working out, trying to sleep as much as you can — that’s the other third of the equation. The eating was the biggest thing; since stopping shooting I probably work out the same but don’t eat as much, and I’ve probably lost 15 pounds or something. Chicken breasts and protein shakes, boiled chicken . . clean meats, the right carbs. Sickly stuff.” Said Chris.
Apart from the diet, he follows a workout routine which complements the diet plan. One useful tip for the beginners would be to give proper rest to the body after a workout followed by proper replenishment of lost nutrients.
