Kareena Kapoor Diet Secrets



Kareena has been crossing several milestones in her career with 6 Film fare awards to her credit. Throughout her eventful career, in both her films and ad endorsements, Bebo looks simply breathtaking owing to her conscious diet and fitness regime.



As a kiddo, Kareena  was every bit plump yet pretty as can be. Typical of the Kapoor family which is fond of hearty and wholesome food and drinks, Bebo had the tendency to put on weight easily. When she entered films, Bebo weighed a whopping 58 kg on her 5’5” frame and looked every inch the robust Punjabi girl.  During the” Jab We Met“days, under the influence of her then boyfriend Shahid Kapoor, Kareena turned strictly vegan and shed some costly kilos. To transform herself into the Soni Kudi, Bebo turned to Ashtanga Yoga and this brought a visible difference in her.

On India TV, Kareena’s diet chart was on display exhibiting the diet she undertook for shedding her weight form near 60 kgs to 48 kgs.


·         Morning Tea  or coffee

·         Two parathas with curd or a bowl of muesli with nuts

·         Lunch & Dinner have rotis with daal and lots of green sabzis but no rice

·         Snacks-once every three hours with nuts and milk for energy

·         Bebo loves cheese and munches a slice for its protein

·         2 Bottles of electoral every day

·         50 Surya namaskar and 1000 kapalbharti


Since 2007, Kareena has been consulting nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar for slimming down to size zero. She has avoided crash-dieting and instead sacrificed her favorite foods like ghee parathas, cheese, pasta, Chinese and Thai foods for healthier protein versions. As far as svelte body goes- Bebo has to suggest this for all of us-“The key to a sexy figure is a great diet, combined with the right exercise. Rujuta combines fat and protein, and tells me to eat everything in moderation, and every two hours. She keeps changing my diet so that my body doesn't get bored. I recently went to Turkey for eight days and it was more like a health trip. I was training twice a day and was on a strict diet. I ate salads, hummus with pita bread, strawberries and olives. For dinner, I had an Indian cook make daal, rice and sabzi," 


For Tashan, Bebo again lost some 6 kgs and weighed only 52 kg. She then came under flak for being a poor role model to her fans. Now recently Kareena again signed off several kilos from her weight scale for her item number Halkat Jawani and is back to the size zero look. Bebo also got entangled in a controversy where she inadvertently seemed to have labeled Vidya Balan and Sonakshi, who defended their heavy curves- “fat”. She reveals- "Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out. Any woman who says she doesn't want to be thin is talking nonsense. It's every girl's dream."


Yet one good thing about Bebo is that she never underwent bariatric surgery or plunged into a crash diet to lose weight. Personally, Kareena feels -"I think size zero was at a time when my role and character needed it in a film. Everybody is relieved now and so am I. Yes, I am feeling good," So Bebo is basically into a healthy, nutritious yet portion-controlled diet with lots of yoga to burn the calories for good measure.
