Diet Secrets Behind Shilpa Shetty's Svelte Figure
It is public knowledge that Shilpa has a yen for Yoga but not much is known about her diet and food habits. So I decided to delve deep into the food facts of Shilpa’s and her diet dogmas.Any Indian female yearns for an hourglass figure like Shilpa Shetty’s and every male is bound to be a sure victim to her airs.
Shilpa claims that she does not avoid any food. Her daily intake is around 2000 calories. She is very normal like any other and gives into food cravings too. But she is careful to plan and watch her diet and stick to a course of high protein and low carbs. In fact she is a total non-vegetarian except for Thursdays. All Shilpa does is to keep obesity at bay is to stick to small calculated portions of a planned diet.
Shilpa Shetty's Day Routine
Shilpa’s typical day begins with a glass of morning tea followed by a bowl of porridge. After her daily work-out, she has a protein shake with 2 dates and 8 black raisins. Then comes lunch at 2: 30 pm with a multi-grain roti made of 5 different grains with ghee. This special protein and fiber rich roti was one she learnt about at the Oneness camp. As side dishes, she has vegetables cooked in refined oil, daal and chicken along with her roti. If she has a craving for sweets, she goes in for a kulfi or chocolate. Late afternoon, she sips on green tea and maybe a flavored soya milk later on. Nothing gets into Shilpa till dinner except for an omelet sandwich which she digs into, only if she is terribly hungry. Dinner at 9:30 pm comprises of lettuce salad with an apple or pomegranate. But it is no-no to a roti or rice at night. Shilpa is more into yoga and meditation and sticks to her work-outs to burn her extra calories. She is not a poor eater but relies more on exercise to kill her kilos.
In her pregnancy diet, Shilpa was doubly keen on eating fresh foods cooked at home. She avoided eating out and if she had to, it was only for grilled food. Shilpa is clear about her pregnancy plan of food intake as she advises- “I pity my sweet tooth for depriving it of chocolates, ice creams, and cakes ever since I entered the seventh month of pregnancy. You can have sweets in moderation. Don't overdo it as most mothers do and end up with gestational diabetes.” Regarding eating out her advice is-“If you like stepping out to indulge yourself, watch your salt intake, and ensure the food has no Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). The only things I would advise against are aerated drinks and junk food. Have nuts, milkshakes and yogurts, as they will enhance your fetus' growth. Most importantly, you must have calcium, folic acid and iron tablets. I wouldn't miss a single dose for anything in the world,”
And, Shilpa made everyone fall for her cooking skills while the entire team of Ra.one was shooting in london. She made chicken curry for the great king khan and the rest of the crew.
Now after Viaaan is born, Shilpa is back with her svelte figure which she regained, thanks to prenatal massages and a strict diet of fruits, fish, salads and soup. Well, Shilpa has always been a chill person who knows her beauty and figure is her best asset. So there is no doubt that she will preserve her prettiness through a controlled palate, regularized diet and cool lifestyle.
