Rihanna's Diet and Exercise Regime

 

Rihanna has been in news due to her rigorous work outs and watchful diet. She has done it again-she won the Best International female Solo Artist award at the BRITS ( British Phonographic Industry ) awards. She was also voted the Sexiest woman Alive by Esquire magazine. My word, doesn’t she look every bit seductive in every outfit she wears. And how?-let us explore!

Rihanna has built a reputation of having some bizarre eating habits. Like for instance, she has indicated that her favorite snack for in-betweens is Microwave Popcorn! She admits to being majorly into junk and fast food too. She has a sweet tooth and just can’t seem to resist her food cravings. Earlier this year, when she went to Hawaii, she ordered 14 packs of Oreos, 9 cartons of ice-creams , 6 large pizzas and 4 bags of cheese crispies. Where does all this go into Rihanna’s slim figure, I wonder?

 

The answer to this is of course her work-outs, says her instructor Harley Pasternak. She is heavily into cardio, running, dancing etc. On tour, she is mainly into veggie high –protein diet while off-time is for snacks. But her favorite of course, is ice-cream which she just can’tresist ever.

 

Nevertheless, Rihanna had to relinquish several kilos for her Good Girls Gone Bad album and got into amazing shape. As she admits-"I like carbs, but at the end of the day, carbs are the enemy. It wasn't so much losing weight as being fit and toned and healthy. I just didn't feel great. Now I'm working out and trying to eat healthy. That's making me lose weight without even thinking about it." So Rihanna got into a low carbs diet mode to reduce weight fast and get rid of food cravings.

 

Ever since Rihanna came under the influence of her fitness expert Harley Pasternak, she has started practicing his 5 Factor diet. She eats small portion controlled meals 5 times a day. In between, to satisfy her food cravings, she munches on bean based chips. She is said to be more watchful about her diet and conscious of burning her extra kilos regularly. She has started taking in more of fresh plant eats like carrots, lettuce, cucumbers. She also consumes egg-whites and digs into fruit-based snacks and juices. Drinking plenty of water makes her eliminate her toxins and feel light.

Rihanna has been in for a lot of flak with her dad Ronald Fenty himself calling her “fat”. So she has bent double in watching her weight by strict dieting and exercising. Rihanna’s on-cal personal trainer, Ary Nunez spills the beans about Rihanna’s stamina and vitality. Rihanna could shed 2000 calories per concert, she says. Such is the energy requirement. So to fuel Rihanna’s high voltage performance, she has to be put on a protein –rich diet. “You shouldn't mix starches with protein because there is an enzyme that exists for the processing of starches, and an enzyme that exists for the processing of protein-and they don't get along," Nuñez advised. "Can you imagine two enzymes having a fight in your belly? One is going to win and stay. If it's starch, it turns to glucose-not good. If it's protein, it turns to fat-also not good.". So the ideal diet for the Bajan babe is fish and vegetables.

 

Looks like Rihanna is more human than all other celebrity stars. She has her weaknesses, her food pangs and her cheat eating habits, just like any one of us and I love her for it. But the best part with Rihanna is she is focused and hard-working and doesn’t shirk a few extra skipping to lose some kilos. I think we should emulate Rihanna in eating what we want but working out equally later.
