Gabourey Sidibe's Weight lossGabourey Sidibe is known for two things: 1. Her role in and as Precious that earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress, and 2. her weight. This actress who once claimed that she liked her weight and liked the way she looked, has apparently taken in some of the criticism and has lost some weight.


Gabourey Sidibe whose weight was estimated to be around 350 pounds at the time of the 2009 Oscars, has now comparatively reduced; she has lost around 50 pounds. The weight has mainly come off from her mid-section and her arms. A slightly healthier looking Gabourey Sidibe is now seen on many of her public appearances.


"My first diet started when I was six years old," she said. "I've never been a small girl. One day I had to sit down with myself and decide that I loved myself no matter what my body looked like and what other people thought about my body," said the actress in one of the interviews.Gabourey Sidibe's Weight loss


Gabourey Sidibe's mother Alice Tan Ridley told, "The truth is Gabourey would like to lose some weight but the reality is that she would not have gotten the role of Precious if she had not been heavy. As her mom I would like to see my daughter healthy but if she didn't lose weight that's not a problem either - it runs in our family."


In 2009, Gabourey Sidibe was approached by a weight loss company which offered to help her lose weight over a year, but reportedly she had turned it down. Her fans definitely want her to lose weight and lead a healthier life, but she must do it by her own rules and media should stay the hell away from her life.

It is true.. she is one of the very few obese women in Hollywood who has a good body image. But she has to lose some more weight. Else she will be risking a heart attack at 30!

for man or woman there is a diet plan out there,i know because i am on it now. going on close to 100 lbs already.its a cheap meal and no exercise involved. its shake at that,1 a day you cant buy 30 meals this cheap and have the health benefits to.hundreds of recipes for it.

Runs in the family. Is the mother kidding? Big surprise, another fat person who is losing weight after saying they like how they are. No one enjoys being fat. They are simply too lazy to fight the big fight.

Great motivational post and like to share some effective tips to lose weight. Breaking meals in 5/6 small meals including snacks helps in losing and maintaining body weight. Do prefer raw food over processed food and drink more water than routine. Start drinking 3/4 cups of green tea daily and avoid beverages, soda and even diet soda.
