Celebrity Diet - Helen MirrenI had to write about Helen Mirren's diet, especially after this 66-year-old British actress was named the 'Body of the Year' by 2000 people in a recent L.A fitness survey. Interestingly, this grand dame beat the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Brook, Jennifer Lopez and Pippa Middleton in the same survey. This multi award winning actress has very simple fitness rules to live by and sets an example for everyone else. Let's take a look at Dame Helen Mirren's diet.

The Helen Mirren Diet:

Helen Mirren believes in portion control. She does not believe in depriving the taste buds; she just eats in moderation. "I've never done anything to excess," she says in an interview with People magazine. "I've never drunk or eaten too much. It helps to stay balanced." She also tries to get at least 8 hours of sleep, even on the days when she is filming. “When I'm working really hard, I don't party, I don't go to the bar after work. I don't go out to restaurants. I just go to bed. If I'm on a film, I even try to catch some sleep in my trailer at lunchtime . . . It's very important and, as you get older, it becomes more so." Helen Mirren, apparently does not frequent the gym, but this does not mean that she doesn't stay active. I mean, come on, look at her shape at 66! She does exercise. In an interview, she said, "I do it, but honestly, it's not particularly a beauty thing, it's just that as one gets older one has to keep up one's energy levels, and if you want to do that you can't stop exercising." She is right about that! Sources also say that she often goes for long walks with her dogs and it is her way of working up a sweat.

When asked how she has such an excellent posture, she said, “Holding your tummy in is another trick for making you look and feel good, I do, by nature, hold my tummy in. I think it comes from being on stage. You are aware of your posture.” Let's keep that in mind.

Now tell me, how can the people not have voted her as the 'Body of the Year'?!! Had I been a part of the survey, I would have done the same thing!
