He is 93 kilograms of pure lean muscle. It is very important for athletes like Kobe Bryant not to gain any bulky muscle because, too much of muscle will reduce the speed and agility of the athlete. Kobe Bryant diet and workout might even be considered a little strenuous for the common man. But if there is no pain, then there is no gain, eh?

Kobe Bryant works out 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. Yep, such is the life of an NBA star. Now, coming back to his 6 hour workout; he does 2 hours of running, 2 hours of basketball, 1 hour of cardio exercises and 1 hour of weight training.


 


When it comes to running, Kobe sometimes doing sprints or distance on the track or cross-country field course, and sometimes running on the basketball court. Good running skills are crucial for a basketball player because the game itself is dependent on it. Running and basketball are intertwined, as basketball needs skill, precision, agility speed and stamina. Kobe Bryant shoots between 700 to 1000 baskets per day. While running and basketball themselves are fantastic cardio exercises, but Kobe Bryant does 1 hour of other cardio vascular exercises such as jumping rope, boxing, or other high-intensity work-outs. This is to keep his lungs and heart in the best performance rate.


 


He finishes off with 1 hour weight training. On different days of the week, he concentrates on different parts of the body. On day 1 and on day 4, he does bench press, lateral pull-downs, incline press, military press, and abdominal crunches. Then on day 2 and on day 5, Kobe Bryant does lateral dumbbell raises, bar dips, triceps press-downs, bicep curls, and abdominal crunches. Finally, on day 3 and on day 6, he does back and front squats, leg curls, leg extensions, calf raises, and abdominal crunches.


                                                                                    


Kobe Bryant is a big man, and therefore the food that he consumes is also more than average. He eats many small meals during the day. His meals are usually protein rich and complex carbohydrate rich. He also drinks plenty, I mean plenty of water to stay hydrated. When he is on the court he also drinks isotonic drinks to prevent dehydration.

End of the day, Kobe Bryant is an NBA All-Stars player. Basketball is his job and such workouts are necessary. However, the Kobe Bryant fans must note that, he does not overwork himself during the playoffs. As for the rest of us, we need not spend 6 hours a day working out.
