Once you started feeling better you can start eating solid foods in small quantity. The first food which you eat should be bland, soft in texture, and made up of natural sugars and carbohydrates. You can eat banana, rice, applesauce and toast. You can also eat pretzels or crackers. Unlike other times, eating fiber rich foods like bran biscuits, corn kernels, etc. is not a good idea for they can irritate the GI system and make you feel sick.

Probiotic organisms include bacteria like Lactobacillus species, Bifidobacterim species, and Streptococcus thermophilus along with yeast like Saccharomyces boulardii. Several studies have indicated that these organisms play a special symbiotic role in our gut and help prevent and cure several ailments including stomach flu. The recommended daily dose of Lactobacillus species or Bifidobacterium species is between 100 million and 35 billion CFUs. For Saccharomyces boulardii, the recommended daily dose is between 250 and 500 mg. It is always better to consult the doctor before embarking upon a probiotic therapy for your condition.

 


Other foods:

 


You can drink fresh juices such as carrot and cabbage juice.

 


One more drink you can make. You just need to add 1 tsp of marjoram to a cup of boiling water and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Drink this three times a day. This will really help you in recovering from the stomach flu disease.
