“Eat egg for weight loss” – is the new weight loss catch phrase coined by Dr. Carrie Ruxton. Eating at least one egg a day will help you when you are trying to knock off extra pounds. Nutrition Scientists say that eggs are rich source of protein and are loaded with essential choline, selenium, Vitamins such as vitamin B12 and D and other minerals. The eggs are good for breakfast because they help you to stay fuller for long time.
“Go to work on an egg” is a sane reality because it is good from weight loss prospective as well as health prospective.

A team of scientists led by Dr. Nikhil Dhurandhar at Rochester Center For Obesity Research in Michigan, found that people who ate eggs for the breakfast could curb their calorie intake by 400 calorie.
The study was conducted on 30 obese women between the ages of 18-60 years with BMI of 25-35. Non-diabetic women were chosen for the study. The researchers found that women who had jelly, two toasts and egg (340 calories) for the breakfast felt more relaxed and filled than the women who had yogurt, cream cheese and bagel (339 calories). The scientists also found that the women who had egg for breakfast were not that eager to have a heavy lunch and consumed 417 calories fewer than the others over the period of 36 hours.
The researchers concluded that the eggs taken for breakfast triggered the feeling of satiety and prompted to reduce their calorie intake by at least 29%. They also said that one should have egg for weight loss because the egg eaters ate lesser than the people following other food groups and were able to curb their hunger for the long time. And in this way any obese can attempt to lose atleast 2 pounds in a month.
Eggs contain variety of nutrients like iron, zinc, Vitamin B12, E, A, and D and pack in just 85 calories. Previously it was propagated that over consumption of eggs is not good and it should be limited to just few a week. But now Food Standards Agency have cleared egg as a healthy food and also ruled that one can have many eggs during the week. Also, the people who want to lose their weight in a natural way should consider egg for weight loss. If someone wants to begin their day with a fancy then they should consider eating whole and boiled eggs with a whole meal toast and a glass of unsweetened orange juice for a fulfilling breakfast. This is because the eggs have at least “50% greater satiety index than bread or breakfast cereal” certified the researchers.
Egg and Weight Loss: Menu Plan for Egg Diet
A typical egg diet should be laid in such a manner that one should be able to gain maximum out of the ingredients.
Breakfast: low carb vegetable, at least 2 eggs, grapefruit, lean protein, etc.
Lunch: Same as the breakfast with some other veggies, fruit and lean protein.
Dinner : Strike out eggs or lean protein and go for low calorie veggies by incorporating them into salads. Avoid going for high carb foods.
The egg for weight loss can only be brought with proper exercise and diet.
