What is Gout?
Gout is a kind of arthritis where the symptomatic evidence is pain and inflammation in the joints because of the deposition of uric acid in the form of crystals in the joints. Excessive presence of uric acid in the body is one of the main reasons, so obviously the best solution would be to control the presence of this element in the body and this can be done by controlled intake of choice food and avoidance of other.
Food To Avoid when you have gout
When deciding what food to avoid, remember that food that is high in purines and protein have been considered to be one of the possible reasons for developing gout.   
Alcohol especially beer should be avoided as alcohol raises the uric acid levels in the body.
Meat – Studies suggest that people who consume large amounts of meat are 40 percent more likely than a normal person to have gout. This means that you have control or better avoid and intake of Venison, Veal, Turkey, Goose, Bacon, Meat gravies, Offal, Meat extracts, Kidney, Hearts, Sweet breads and Liver or even bouillon cubes.
Seafood – In another study it was found that those who had seafood were found to be 50 percent more likely to have gout. Fish like Trout , Sardine , Cod, Mackerel, Salmon, Smelt, Anchovies, Haddock and Herrings and other seafood like Crabs, Shrimps, Mussels and Scallops
Vegetables- Lentils, Asparagus, Yeast, and Rhubarb shouldn’t be consumed in excess. Though vegetables like peas, beans, mushrooms, cauliflower and spinach are high in purines they dint seem to have an adverse effect on the body especially when it comes to gout, which means that these are vegetable you don’t have to avoid when you have gout.
Daily Food - Caffeinated drinks or food, all fried foods, baked goods, Cream, Ice cream, White flour and pastries
Medicine - Also avoid taking Aspirin, if you really need a pain killer pick up Ibuprofen provided you are not allergic to it.
Remember that obesity can also trigger the occurrence of gout. This is because obesity is also linked to high levels of uric acid in the blood. Therefore, ensure that you maintain a healthy exercise regime, do not over eat and chart out a balanced diet for yourself. I mentioned a balanced diet as fasting or severe dieting can raise uric acid levels and can worsen gout.
Food you can have when you have gout are
Chocolate and cocoa
Fruits – Have strawberries and raspberries as dark berries helps in lowering uric acid and reducing the inflammation of joints. Cherries, pineapple, oranges and tangerines are the other fruits you can try.
Vegetables - Celery, tomatoes, 6 to 12 glasses of water that is purified and not chlorinated, kale, parsley, cabbage and all those other green leafy vegetables, red cabbage, red bell peppers,
Low Fat Dairy Products and Tofu- the protein intake here dint have an adverse effect in the body
Carbonated Drinks and food high in bromine
Keep in mind that your diet should be high in complex carbohydrates, low in protein and should bring in no more than 30% calories from fat. Essential fatty acids are allowed as they are great anti-inflammatory elements. High quality pure fish oil would be the best way to get these into your system.
