A detox diet is recommended for those who are looking at eliminating the toxins or bad chemicals from the body. It is merely an act of flushing out the bad chemicals from the body to have a healthier and active body. It is most effective in weight loss.

 

 

A detox diet is essentially dependent on nature’s bounty, i.e fruits, vegetables, pulses etc. Even the beverages recommended are chemical free. Before getting into the detoxification of your body, just watch out for a few things.
1) You should not have any allergies because of any of the nuts or grains that is suggested in the diet
2) Check out on the list of foods that you can and can’t have
3) The benefits of detoxification
4) What is the minimum amount of liquid that you should have
5) Chew your food properly

The food that is recommended for detox diet:

All kinds of fruits: Never consume canned or tinned fruits. Always have fresh fruits. There are no restrictions as to what kind of fruits you should have. But if you are looking at losing some weight, avoid mangoes and other high calorie fruits. Watermelon, pawpaw and oranges are most ideal.

Vegetables: Again, consume as much as fresh vegetables as possible in form of salads, soups, steamed veggies etc. Avoid potatoes. Broccoli, sprouts, green leafy vegetables are recommended and can be had in any quantity.

Grains: Rice can be had but, recommended grains are wheat, millet, ragi and oats. Rice contains higher amount of starch, so have it in limited quantity.

Nuts: Avoid peanuts and peanut butter at all costs. You can consume almonds, unsalted nuts, cashews and pumpkin seeds. Nuts with high oil content are best avoided.

All kinds of legumes such as beans, chickpeas, green peas and lentils are allowed. They are easy to digest and have high nutritional values.

Avoid coffee of any kind, black or with cream. Herbal tea, green tea and even normal tea is allowed. If you are a person who consumes a huge amount of liquid, then the first thing that you should be drinking is lemon and water. This not only cleanses your system but also helps you burn fat. Fresh fruit juices without sugar can be had. Lastly have at least eight glasses of water. This not only rehydrates your body but also keeps your stomach full and thus avoiding consuming empty calories.
