Papaya is a true blessing for skin. It is not only excellent for internal consumption but also highly beneficial when applied externally. The enzyme papain which is present in papaya helps in keeping digestion healthy and it is a well known fact that good digestion is very important for beautiful skin. Papain also helps in getting rid of dead and damaged skin cells when applied externally.


Eat Papaya for Gorgeous Skin

What we eat definitely defines how we look. A diet high in papaya can keep your skin radiant, youthful and problem free.

Papaya is rich in anti-oxidant nutrients; specifically Vitamins A, C and E. They help fight against free radical damage while protecting the skin from all sorts of environmental ravages. It is also a bountiful source of folate, flavonoids and B Vitamins which are required for keeping skin smooth and healthy.

Try to consume a bowl of ripe papaya on an empty stomach every day. You can also prepare various salads keeping it as the main ingredient. Due to the anti-inflammatory properties of papaya, consuming the juice of unripe papaya can also be highly beneficial in skin diseases like acne and psoriasis.


Apply Papaya for Beautiful Skin

External application of papaya can protect skin from age spots and signs of premature aging. It also helps in restoring the moisture balance of skin.

Papaya Face Mask

To prepare this excellent mask, combine together 2 tablespoons ripe mashed papaya, 1 teaspoon molasses or honey, 1/2 teaspoon fresh cream, 2-3 drops of lemon juice and 2 drops of orange essential oil. Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth and thick paste. You can substitute cream with yogurt in case your skin is oily or greasy.

Wash your face and pat dry. Apply the mask evenly to your face and neck. Let it remain for 20-25 minutes and then wash off with warm water.

Regular application of this excellent mask will help slough off dead and damaged skin cells, while also keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized.

Papaya Face Massage

A daily face massage with fresh papaya can keep your skin youthful and radiant for years to come.

For the face massage, mix together 2-3 tablespoons blended ripe papaya pulp, 1/2 teaspoon honey and 2 drops of lavender essential oil. You can add tea tree essential oil instead of lavender in case you suffer from acne and greasy skin conditions.

Clean your face with a herbal face wash and pat dry. Dampen your hands a little and start massaging the mixture on your skin in gentle circular movements. Start from your neck and move upwards. Do the massage for 5-15 minutes every day.

Regular massage with this papaya mixture will not only help in getting rid of dull skin but will also soothe and moisturize it. It will also help in getting rid of pigmentation and brown spots, restoring a healthy and radiant complexion.
